Building Your Self Confidence

The main support of all of our endeavours must be self-confidence. Without it we cannot operate as functional, positive and focused human beings.

When we are focused, we aim our thoughts onto the task at hand and that means all our energy at that moment is being poured into the task. It causes “flow” and the job at hand becomes easier and success is achieved. Yet, when are doing this we seldom notice that in order for focus to work, we must first have faith in the ideas behind our work and our chosen methods.

Trust is a good definition of confidence. We have trust in others and we must have trust in ourselves to accomplish our daily tasks if we want to succeed. without it we will become meandering idiots with no idea where we are going or what we are doing.

How do we trust ourselves? Why do we trust others more than ourselves? For some reason it is easier to trust others before we give ourselves trust – strange don’t you think? We tend to trust other people first or more quickly simply because it gives us the opportunity to avoid making decisions for ourselves and sticking with the decision. When another suggests an idea or course of action we have the opportunity to displace responsibility to another – and therefore, when it goes wrong it isn’t our fault but the other persons.

                                                            Take Responsibility

If you truly desire to be successful at what you do then you must learn to trust yourself and your ideas. That is the first step to becoming a self-confident person who acts and lives with authority. Set your goals and after revising them, thinking about them adjusting them and finally making the decision that they are right, stick to them and take the responsibility of the outcome for good or worse. Remember that life isn’t an easy course of events where we say “I’ll have that” and it drops in your lap. Life doesn’t work like that. We need to be courages to live life fully and if we take courage and keep moving forwards, then life will reward us with the things we desire. It takes a little courage to trust yourself but it’s worth it.

Remember this ; courage doesn’t start with over-caution and timidity. Courage is simply a state of being and a motivating state of mind that drives people on and through to win and achieve the things they most desire and need.

                                                              Do not Worry

Worry is such a deceptive thought. Can you imagine being courageous and self confident and also having time to worry about whether you are doing the right thing or not. I can’t, it doesn’t seem to fit together somehow! Worry dominates the mind, it loves to fester and expand itself and seeks every nook and cranny in the mind out and fills it with terrible thoughts of dread. Worry takes good solid thoughts and reminds them that there is an opposite to itself and then when that thought believes it, worry has caught the thought and turned it into a negative, dark, weeping slurry of slow moving, heavy dread that darkens the mind and brings it grinding to a halt.   The mind, in its worry phase, is now confused and has no idea what happened to those original positve, self confident thoughts that were so well primed and ready for action. It stops functioning and dissapates to a powerless heap of brain cells that have no goal or self confidence to do anything.

                                                              Dwell on The Good

Avoid the worry like the plague – it tries to make you believe that it has a function but it doesn’t. Wise caution is the best replacement when doubts about a project arise – never allow worry to decide for you.

Dwell on the good things in your life and you will strengthen your goals and your abilities. Develop self-confidence by applying belief in your goals and your abilities to carry out and achieve the goals desired. Continue to practice your chosen route to self improvement and you will strengthen your self-confidence. then you will achieve and succeed in your endevours each and every time. By having the self confidence to act and begin the pursuit of your goals you will be teaching your mind that you are an achiever, a successful person and the type of person who doesn’t take no for an answer.

Belief has the ability to reproduce itself, to strengthen itself through the applied act of faith and belief in action. Belief is an action that requires courage. The courage to take a step into the unknown sometimes and to begin a journey that may take some time to reach the final destination. This requires self confidence.
