Starting your own business can seem like a big jump in life. Developing a successful business takes dedication and hard work.

There are many good reasons why you should think hard about developing your own business.

With all the “offers” that we find online these days it’s hard to decide what’s for real and what’s not real. But, don’t be shy, there are many good business opportunities that would fit right into your life. That sounds high minded but let me explain why I believe this. I don’t work for other people. I did. Long ago. I decided long ago that it just doesn’t make sense to spend a lifetime being somebody else’s employee. And, it doesn’t make sense. Think about these ideas. You offer your labour for money. That was the original deal about being an employee and employers love it. You are a commodity that they get to use and wear out until you are not much use to them anymore. When that time comes they’ll chuck you on the heap and get another one. There are so many people out there looking for a way to support families and themselves that everybody believes in the social conditioning that “there’s no time to study,to start a business or even stop and think about whether it could be different”. But think of this. There is time. It’s now , and you have every right to take the time and put your energy into developing something new in your life. Something that will make you and your family proud of you and your efforts. Something that is rewarding and brings money into the house. Your own business. Social conditioning is a powerful concept that has been used in societies throughout the twentieth century and is developing into beliefs and mind-sets that create morons and non-thinking members of society who just follow those concepts. Such as, “gotta go to work – no time for me!” – ” You can never make it today,so don’t even try!”. People live in comfort zones that they create themselves or are offered to them. Zones that appear secure and offer a certain amount of repetitive income that just about never covers the costs. Comfort Zones that certainly don’t allow for personal wishes to be fulfilled. Did you choose those comfort zones that you live in? Many people today don’t realise that we live in enlightened times. If you stand up and say enough is a enough! Then it is your right to do this and take action to change your life and the way that you earn or make your money. I’m not saying it’s easy as pie but it is certainly easier than spending a lifetime doing something you don’t like. Think about it. If you work for an employer and your hours are probably long and when you come home you still have household chores to do, you probably have a limited social life. The work schedule is gruelling. You are tired and don’t want to over do it in the evening. You probably have a working social life. By that I mean that any interaction between you and other human beings is happening at work. Great you have work colleagues who are also your friends. No problem when they are nice people but what do you tend to talk about? Work and all it’s problems, the boss and his attitude? Just can’t get away from it. Creating Your own income is hard work but fun. Think of that, it’s very different to working for somebody else and making them money, making their product or delivering their service so that they experience all the fun side of business. That’s your right too. Changing a lifestyle takes time but anything worth having is is worth investing in with time and patience. Today the work environment is not what it once was. I remember way back when it was shameful for a country to have more than a million people unemployed, today five million unemployed is called a down-turn or is simply covered up with juggled figures. Once it was totally outrages for a company to fire 2000 workers and admit that it’s the only way to make profits. Years back the bosses would have been accused of being incompetents who shouldn’t be running such a large business. You see, big business does actually have a social responsability, that of supplying solid labour  and long term work and careers. Not anymore though. When they want more profit just be brutal and fire 2000  people – no need to sweat it and start looking through the pilfered account books. That’s why you can’t bet your life on an employer anymore. That’s why starting your own business might seem like a big jump but it is a wise one. Being self employed,your own man or woman, a one man band or being someone who has discovered the delights of creating multiple incomes has enormous benefits that enhance your life. look at these ideas. 1. You become independent of everybody but you still live with people you want to lie with. You learn to think for yourself – not for your boss. 2. You develop a lifestyle according to who you really are and not live a life that is dumped on you. 3.You can choose to be an entrepreneur or set up a business that grows like a family business. 4. You decide how much money you make. Many people don’t believe this idea because they are conditioned to stay employed and accept what’s given to them. When you find an ideal solution or business where you offer other people a service or product. They need your offer and then you can see that it’s possible to increase your income by offering value for money. Not your precious time against a couple of quid. 5. You will have time to live life and develop as a human being. You deceide when to work and when not. Your time may be aluable but but not all is money. family and friends offer you enormous opportunity to grow as a person, develop experiences with them and enjoy life to the full. This Morning I read an interesting and simple post from Leo Babauta. He simply wrote about Habits and how important it is to develop the Habits that support you. To avoid forcing yourself into doing things that cause resistance in your Mind.

The Importance of Enjoying the Habit is good advice for all those people out there who believe they must force themselves into an action that basically their mind doesn’t enjoy or even like. Mustering up the Power of a Tiger to make yourself live in a way that is contra to your real beliefs, isn’t going to make you happy.

Zen thoughts and the Zen approach to daily life is the simplest, non-confusing daily path that we can follow.

Self-Discipline can be a great tool to ensure an organised life style. Too much Self Discipline can cause “Burn-Out” in the mind. Good Habits should be enjoyed and they should be things that create quality of life for the individual.

Developing good Habits doesn’t have to be difficult. Just develop the habits that fit into your life and avoid trying to copy someone else’s life.

Giving up bad habits can be difficult but actually acquiring a habit isn’t so difficult. We often develop  them because it offers us an easy way to relieve stress or we think it helps us to be able to do something with more ease.

Smoking is easy to develop. Giving up is hard. We don’t know why we smoke,generally. But, if we take time to think about the reason we started smoking in the first place,we might come across the idea of what “gap” or “void” we were trying to fill. Like stress relief or boredom.

Smoke a Really Good Book

Think of the many things that you could do instead of smoking.Useful actions that you would enjoy and could take the place of smoking. Chewing a sweet doesn’t relieve stress but reading a really interesting book does.

Many people take up jogging to replace smoking or drinking habits. Jogging relieves stress and that’s why people report good results about it making it easier quit.

Jogging is a path of least resistance for many people. It creates health and fitness and has positive results for both mind and body.

Giving up the bad habit of smoking is a good thing but when we do then a void is created that smoking had filled – in a negative way.

If we seek out good habits that we truly enjoy and find motivating to do, then we can follow the advice of Leo Bebauta at Zen Habits and fill those little voids and gaps in our lives with quality thought patterns or good habits.

Right Actions lead to mental states of empowerment such as following the path of least resistance in our lives.

Idleness is perceived in many ways, A Donkey stands between two bales of hay, he is hungry. He dies of hunger trying to make a Decision about which one to eat. Are you a donkey? Or do You make Choices?

Idleness or being lazy,indolent,allowing lethargy to control your activities – or lack of them – is really caused by indecision. Many people have trouble getting started in the Morning and then the day goes to pit. Ever happened to you?

The problem is often that we approach the tasks that we set ourselves from the wrong angle.The donkey was faced with a problem. Which bale of hay is better? We are conditioned to believe that when we are faced with Choice, one choice must be right and the other choice is wrong. So, we tend to spend too much time in the decision making phase.

Similar to the donkey; remember a time, hot summer’s day walking in the city or town with friends. You decide to buy an ice-cream. You and your friend seek out an appropriate ice cream seller and look at all the different types of ice cream on offer. You now have a problem. There are at least thirty different flavours!

” One of the flavours must be the right choice”, whispers your mind. You haven’t got a cat’s clue which flavour you want,right now. Your feelings are something like,” I wish I had a written list,then I’d sit down for ten minutes and study all these flavours”.

The ice cream seller is looking at you in a tired way. You feel under pressure to decide and your mouth is watering. The taste buds in your mouth are crying out for any flavour – so long as it’s cold and creamy!

Originally you and your friend were prompted to buy ice-cream for one reason only – it’s a hot day and ice cream is cold and pleasant on a hot day. The flavour doesn’t matter, so long as it isn’t the latest Cat’s Poop con Leche flavour.

The point is that cold ice cream is what you wanted. But when you were confronted by thirty flavours of the stuff you wanted to buy,you were forced into a difficult situation. You had to make a decision as if it were a quiz and your reputation depended on the Right Choice being made.You thought you had to make a decision about flavour. Really though, you had already decided that you wanted ice cream.

The correct Decision would have been to point at any flavour and ask for it. Your taste buds would be satisfied and you would have felt quite happy with your Decision.

Before I went to bed last night, quite late actually, I wrote down the tasks that I wanted to achieve today. I always do this and its habit and a good habit. It gives me something to focus on when I drink my Morning coffee. By the time I’ve drunk my coffee I want to get on with the first ask. So, the focus causes motivation. It works and you should try it. The decision is made and I don’t have a complex situation deciding which task needs to be done first.

What is important, is that I know that if I complete a task first and then I see that actually I have a very important task to finish before midday, I can change my mind. It’s that simple.

When we have a list of tasks, especially repetitive tasks that need to be done again and again, we can feel a little overwhelmed by the activity. We are already beginning to look at our work as if it were a mountain instead of a day’s work.

At this point we are in danger of allowing our minds to seize up and recoil at the thought of any chance of a start. You see, human beings will react in a primitive way given half a chance.

Men who are faced with the prospect of going shopping with their spouses have been studied. They often show signs of raised heart beat,fear symptoms and finally look for  escape route strategies. yes, really.

Shopping involves complex decision making processes that many men seem to deem a waste of energy and time. Hence finding many men in a pub, passing the day with idle talk on Saturday afternoon, while their spouses are out shopping. They have taken the easiest route and simply gone to a comfort zone that required little planning. The action itself is avoiding making decisions about Choices.

Choices help us move forwards in life towards Success.

To make a choice is to make a commitment. So naturally, many people avoid making choices. What do you think happens when people don’t make a Choice? Are they still on route to Success? No, they stop. They accomplish nothing and they get busy doing irrelevant things that have no connection with their goals. Most of their activities involve expending a lot of energy finding strategies to avoid making a choice and going with it.

Making a decision is choosing to start thinking and acting in a new way. It means that we will gently move out of our comfort zones and begin traversing unknown waters. Do we trust our skills enough to take a voyage into the dark waters? Possibly meet monsters, do battle with the demons in our souls and then still have enough courage and energy to steer our vessel through future storms to finally dock at our Chosen destination. Many people say ” No way! Too much risk!”

The Risk behind Making a Decision.

Perception is a powerful mental tool. We all have it. Unfortunately, not many people realize that it isn’t on automatic function. It needs to be used as a tool. To practice focusing on the object or subject in question(decision) will empower the height of perception and therefore the ability to make a decision.

Remember that I mentioned that we have been conditioned to believe that when we choose something, we think that there is only one correct choice? well, the good news is that there are actually many choices and all of them are correct- more or less. It just depends on your point of perception. It depends on what you personally want. Your decision should be based on whether your original belief that led to wanting ice cream was based on thirst or desire to taste a flavour. It is a hot day, I’m thirsty – I’ll take an ice cream, any flavour, I want it to be cold and thirst quenching.That’s all.

After eating the ice cream, we could make a note to return to the ice cream vendor next week and test the different flavours.

We develop ideas about what we want in life and then we are immediately faced with decisions. Often this can be debilitating and confusing. It doesn’t have to be so long as we base our decision making on our own beliefs and not on our conditioning. Conditioning that came from adults telling us to hurry up and make a decision when we were children.

Your Attitude is the key to how you approach everything you do in Your life. Developing a positive Attitude  in Your daily life is often the difference between successfully accomplishing a task  or failing at it.

You have your Goals and these goals are broken down into manageable portions that you work on everyday. The tips to Developing a Positive Attitude below are there to help you build strategies to overcome failure.

Get up early

Sleep is very important – so is getting up at a reasonable time. The act of getting up early and bowling into the day with positive emotions is a great way to set the tone of your mind for the day. Too much sleep causes lethargy and that leads to lack of accomplishments. If you can finish several tasks before midday then you will feel more relaxed and be able to approach other tasks with energy and enthusiasm throughout the rest of the day.

Self Determination

Being a Self-Determined person is key to success. Always remember that you are responsible for what happens and you are responsible for achieving your goals. Don’t allow other people to interfere and hinder your progress. Decide the course of action for yourself and avoid involving people who are not related to the goal.

The Company You Keep

Be aware of the type of people that you encounter. Are they positive minded? Do they put you down? Sometimes people love to listen to another persons goals and ambitions and then promptly tear them apart just for arguments sake. Stay away from chewing-gum minded people. People who spend their time talking and not doing are danger-zones to be avoided at all costs. They won’t help you or support you in any way. Let them continue in their foggy world of ideas and you continue moving forwards with your clarity and Self-Determined Attitude.

Get some Sleep, Tomorrow is another Day.

Sometimes life just doesn’t go as we planned and the day draws to an end. Don’t try and steal hours from tomorrow – you never get them back and you interfere with your own schedule dramatically when you do this. Just call it a day and get some shut eye and wake early,refreshed and finish the tasks you missed out on yesterday. You will thank yourself for it in the Morning!

Read and Educate Yourself

Self-Education is the cheapest and a very effective way to learn about your business and yourself in life. Thinking that you can avoid some form of book learning is a mistake. Buy the books you need to learn about the business that you are running. Learn about people by reading autobiographies. People who went before you in a similar business or situation. You will reap a lot from this and you will see how the greats were just like you,yet they allowed nothing to stop them.

Read and listen. DVDs and books are your source of valuable material which will cut years off your learning curve. If you try and learn everything from pure experience you will take a long time.

Optimism and Self Talk

One of the most valuable strategies to learn and keep your attitude positive is the Self-Talk. Its effect is similar to when you have a heart to heart with a good friend. Optimism is a motor that keeps you looking forwards and keeps you on track with your goals. When you feel tired,worn out or have just had a bad experience that is affecting your performance then go for the self-talk. A great place to do it is in the bedroom or bathroom. There is a mirror there, if you are looking at yourself when you tell yourself how great you are and that you know you can accomplish all of your goals then you will also see the smile that appears on your face.

Tell yourself everything you need to know that will make you a human dynamo. The self-talk will pep your courage up, boost your energy and get you through the day with a positive attitude.

If you practice the above tips on a daily basis they will become second nature to you. They are strategies for success. They keep the “negs” at bay and keep your mind energetic and on track to success.
